Care
Linen pillows and throws
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors and a mild detergent. Tumble dry low or, better, line dry. A warm iron will smooth the worst of the wrinkles, but linen is meant to have texture. Resist the urge to press it flat.
The slight slouch and softening with use are not flaws. They are the point.
Lambswool throws
Spot clean as needed. For a full clean, hand wash in cold water with a wool-safe detergent, press gently between two towels to remove water, and lay flat to dry. Brush with a soft natural-bristle brush to refresh the pile.
Store folded in a cotton bag or on a closet shelf, away from direct sunlight.
Candles
Trim the wick to a quarter inch before each light. Burn for no longer than four hours at a time. The first burn should reach the edge of the vessel to set the memory of the wax and prevent tunneling.
When the candle is gone, soak the vessel in warm water to remove the last of the wax, then wash with mild soap. The vessel is meant to live on after the candle.
Original art
Hang away from direct sunlight and away from radiators and other heat sources. Dust the frame with a soft dry cloth. Never use cleaning sprays on the glass while the frame is on the wall.
